Today is the first day of November. I was thrilled thinking about Thanksgiving getting closer, when it's the time for family getting together. Living in a big city like Houston is fun, especially when we are living so close to shopping centers and there are tons of restaurants surrounding us. Sometimes, though, I miss living in a small town where people are more friendly and the life style is more relaxing.

I have been busy visiting my hometown and traveling in Beijing in the last couple of weeks while Chris was visiting his parents in US. Being a couple from the opposite sides of the world is challenging, which means one of us will be far away from family. Having separate vacations with each our families at the same time turns out is a pretty good idea. We both had a wonderful time with our family and friends while still being able to talk on line everyday.

I really like going through my wardrobe and pairing up different outfits during weekend, and today is no exception. After I spent almost an hour looking through my wardrobe, I finally decided to wear the flora jacket I recently bought from a boutique store, with a flora sweatshirt underneath. Actually it was my husband's idea to pair those two flora tops together. and I have to say they turned out great and looked really cute with each other.

The weather today is refreshing after so much rain, so I decided to wear something casual and comfortable. Leggings are always my weekend favorite piece, especially when I'm too lazy to dress up. The Signature leggings from J Crew are super comfortable and the best fitting ones I have ever owned. The waist line fits perfect, not too high or too low. The material is soft and stretchy, which makes me feel like I'm not wearing any pants, while the waist band is tight, which makes them feel more slimming. They don't lose shape through the day or over time. I've washed and dried them a lot in high heat, and they have maintained their shape. The only thing that is not perfect for me is the 27 inch inseam, which is a little too long for petite girls like me.

Since we are planning to walk around a lot in Hong Kong, I chose to wear something comfortable and casual - a jacket and tank top from Lily with J Crew 3" shorts. For shoes, I wore my most walkable Jelly Thong sandals from Michael Kors, which are always my first choice for summer trips and an easy going pairs. It turned out a great choice as my feet felt comfortable the whole time while walking around for hours in Causeway Bay area and the Center part of Hong Kong.
