Alice & Olivia Sleeveless Sweater and Stuart Weitzman Hiline Suede Over-The-Knee Boots

Hello everyone!

I have been living in Houston for almost one and a half years now. One of the reasons I really like it is the warm winter. It feels so nice to be able to walk around in the sun without worrying about cold wind or slippery road. I know a lot of people are big fans of snow, especially for those are living in the south. But to me, snowy days have always been bad memories. As you may know, I grew up in a northern city in China, where kids have to study at school from early in the morning (7 am) to late at night (10pm), even during bad weather like snowy days. You can imagine how awful it was to walk on the slippery road with biting winds and falling snowflakes. I was so happy when I went to college in Chongqing, a city in south of China where it barely snows in winter.

Just like other new moms, I was desperate to get my body back so I can start wearing my normal clothes. Luckily, I managed to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight in 6 weeks after birth. However, the stubborn baby weight on my belly and waist area made it difficult to wear my slim dresses or pants, so I started to shop for loose sweaters and bottoms. I bought this Alice & Olivia Abbot Sleeveless Basketweave Mock-Neck Sweater from Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely one of my favorite tops in my wardrobe now. It’s very fashionable and mom friendly. I wear it with my faux leather skirt shorts and my Hiline Suede Over-The-Knee Boots when I feel like dressing up. I also paired it with my black leggings and sneakers when I pushed my daughter around in the stroller.

My husband bought me this Hiline Suede Over-The-Knee Boots as a birthday gift a few months ago. They were on top of my new mom shopping wishlist after I lost all my baby weight. They are the new version of the classic Highland Over-The-Knee Boots from Stuart Weitzman. I like the Hiline more as the calves fit slimmer and the heels are thicker. I walked around in the mall the first time I wore them and they were surprisingly comfortable, although it took me a while to get used to walking around in 4 inch heels since I have been wearing sneakers and flats when I was pregnant.
